Jan 28th, 2010 by Velden Wardle

The annual Snowcrest Talent Show will be February 11 at 10:00 AM.  Students have completed auditions and the list for those participating in the show has been announced and posted.  We are looking forward to a great talent show.

Parent/Teacher Conferences are also quickly approaching.  They will be held on February 17th with a morning session from 7:30-9:30 AM and an afternoon session from 4:00-7:00 PM.  The first hour of both sessions is reserved for appointments only.  Please contact the school at 801-476-5360 to make an appointment during the first hour of either the morning or afternoon session.  The remaining time is open for all parents and students to simply come and visit with teachers.  We are looking forward to a successful Parent/Teacher Conference next month.

Federal Survey Cards
Dec 16th, 2009 by Velden Wardle

This year, the District was hopeful to put the process of Federal Survey Cards completely on-line.  This would have made one less form that was sent home to be signed and returned to the school.   However, because of a couple of complications, the Federal Survey Card was not able to go completely electronic.  As a result, we will again be sending home these postcard size forms to be filled out, signed by a parent, and returned to the school.  These will be sent home January 6th and will need to be returned to the school as soon as possible.

While completing and returning this card might be a little bit of a hassle, these cards represent a tremendous amount of money to the school and District.  That being the case, it is important to have all of our students return these cards signed by a parent.  We appreciate your help with this as well as the support given to the school in all we do.  If you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to conatct the school.

With Halloween soon approaching, there are plenty of activities happening at Snowcrest.  This year, students will be allowed to wear costumes to school on October 29th.  At the end of the school day, we will have a Halloween Stomp and costume contest.

Students who choose to wear costumes to school should still follow the school dress code standards.  Additionally, no weapons or look-alike weapons, no cross-gender dressing, excessive make-up, or otherwise offensive costumes.

In addition to the Stomp on October 29th from 2:45-4:45 PM, the PTO is also sponsoring a Halloween Carnival on October 30th from 6:00-8:30 PM at the school.  There will be games, booths, food, spook alley, a raffle and prizes.  We invite everyone in the community to come and have a fun evening at the annual Halloween Carnival.

School Email List
Sep 25th, 2009 by Velden Wardle

Parents,

New this year is the addition of a school email list.  The purpose of the email list to to improve communication with parents and provide another route for information to be sent home.  Periodically, emails will be sent to parents who have signed up to be on the list.   These emails will contain important information such as dates for school events, announcements, and accolades for deserving students and teachers.  If you are interested in being added to the email list, please send an email to:   SCJH@weber.k12.ut.us               Please put “Subscribe” in the subject line.

We are hopeful that parents will take advantage of this email and that it may be an effective tool for communication.  If you have any other suggestions that you feel could help to improve the school, please sent them to the email address listed above with the word “Suggestion” in the subject line.

We are now more than half way through our first term!  We have had an exciting start to the school year with some great assemblies by our Student Body and Class Officers.  The Ski Academy students are enjoying being a part of Snowcrest and we are thrilled they are a part of our school.
