We had a WNL quiz today and discussed Chapter 3 in a little more detail. We worked on revising cheating stories. They are due at the beginning of class on Friday.

We had a grammar exercise and then spent the rest of the period in the lab. Students should have finished point two by today.

We renewed library books and worked on point two of the research paper in the lab. There are only four lab days left to work on the paper. Outside reading and research papers are due by March 19th, and will not be accepted for credit after that date under any circumstances.

Today was a free reading day. I was able to call each student back individually to review practice AP test essay scores. We will be taking a practice essay test on Thursday on Lord of the Flies. Remember book notes and LOF book annotations are due Thursday.  Today was the last day for any make-up work for Lord of the Flies. If you didn’t get it in to me today, e-mail it before 11:00 tonight.

We finished peer editing and started revisions on the cheating story. Final draft is due on Wednesday. We also read from page 50-67 in Chapter 3 and took notes.

We finished the grammar onpage 523. We also finished point one and started point two of the research paper.

We finished discussion of Chapters 10-12. All work for Lord of the Flies is due no later than Tuesday. Book notes and working journal can be turned in on Thursday.

There are a few calendar changes to be aware of: Tuesday is our free reading day for the term. I will be conferencing with those who turned in their Heart of Darkness essay. We’ll be writing a practice essay on Lord of the Flies on Thursday. The Lit terms page 5 matching test will be on Monday the 15th.

Rough drafts on the cheating story were due today. We began peer editing. Final drafts are due next Wednesday.

After reading we worked on the first half of a grammar exercise on page 523 (subject/verb). We finished up by working in the lab on point one of the research paper.
