Last Saturday (November 1, 2008) those 6th graders that had earned enough points during 1st quarter attended a WSU football game. Points were earned by doing the following activities: reading at least 120 minutes per week, filling out and having a parent sign their homework tracker each day, and being prepared (meaning having all of their assignments completed each day).
The activities included a tailgate party (a barbecue, homemade root beer, hot chocolate that was dontated by Starbucks, and popcorn, pretzels, and cookies that were donated by WSU food services). Waldo the Wildcat came on his scooter and visited the students.
After eating our fill, we attended the football game between WSU and Portland State. During the game, we had two visits from the cheerleading squad. The first time they brought posters for the students and the second time they brought little stuffed Wildcats. They congratulated the students for their hard work in earning this activity. The weather was fantastic and WSU won the game by a score of 31-21. Go Wilcats!!!!
